QAZAQ AIR achieving self-sustainability levels 3 years ahead of the planned and the first time since establishment in 2015

QAZAQ AIR airline shows record growth of its own passenger’s traffic for the 7th year in a row. The airline carried 570,000 passengers in 2021, up 32% from 2020. The route network of the airline consists of 35 destinations. The airline’s revenue for the reporting period increased by 67% compared to 2020 and amounted to 12.7 billion tenge. According to the approved audited financial statements for 2021, EBITDA reached 472 million tenge.

The results clearly proves that the airline is capable to cover all cash expenditures despite the challenges caused by the COVID-19 lockdown and transformation recent years. In 2021, the three-year cycle of deep business transformation of QAZAQ AIR to become self-sufficient has been accomplished.

Key Projects implemented in 2021:

– certification of in-house line maintenance organization and registration of the entire fleet in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

– launched a new route network with a hub in Nur-Sultan serving socially important subsidized routes and cross-border international flights. 2021 was another year when QAZAQ AIR successfully confirmed full compliance with the international IOSA operational safety standards as an official member of IATA.

Improvement of the flight safety and accessibility of the interregional air transportation in the Republic of Kazakhstan is the basis of strategic development of the regional national airline QAZAQ AIR.
